Back on the Road

Getting in gear…

One convenient thing is that our trip will be over the summer, so we won’t need to pack much. But that is not the only thing you need to think about when you leave your home for three months to go someplace else. Especially with small children. Then again, people do it all the time, so it can’t be rocket science.

Nonetheless, Julia Wiedemann from USA-Reisen.de, a travel agency in Berlin mainly specialized in the USA and Canada, was just fabulous in helping organize and coordinate flights, car rentals and accomodations, and in putting together various alternative itineraries.

The challenge we were facing was to make arrangements in such a way that we would be able to go to all the places we want to go and to coordinate concurrent professional meetings without feeling like running a multi-marathon. After all, this trip should also allow us to slow down, relax and let our minds and souls wander to embrace the unexpected.

But here again, so many have proven to be extremely helpful and accommodating. Some of my German contacts with a substantial US experience and network have been so kind as to repeatedly making numerous introductions. I am most grateful for their kindness and support.

Great creative minds like Henryk Berlet and David Bernhard from Variante B, who have been building the corporate design of my firm ever since its inception, have helped to design this blog. Their energy and creative support is as enormous as that of my twins.
