With a little help from my friends

“How are you going to do this?” most people ask me. “Can you leave your firm for such a long time?”

Although it appears somehow out of question for a lawyer to leave his or her desk for longer than a few weeks, I dare say: I can. Will it work out in the end? I don’t know. But I know that I have assembled the most incredible people at the firm over the last years. We have grown into a real team. We support each other. We learn from one another. We celebrate life together.

They will be running the show while I am gone and they are doing it with a smiling heart, allowing me to feel good about my tour and about having them run the ship. It feels like a new adventure in the process of our firm growth, marking a milestone in its development.

Joseph Schwartz, my new partner since the beginning of this year, charming and smart, will be in charge of keeping people and things together and will thereby further grow into his new role that he already fills splendidly.

And last but not least, our clients are just magnificent. They have continuously encouraged me in undertaking this trip, and I thank them deeply for their support and kindness.

I therefore have no doubts that everything will be just fine and even better when I return than it was upon my departure.
